OLSHAKER RESIDENCE Arlington, VA The house is a threshold to the landscape. A ceremonial way connects the street and suburban fabric to the bucolic site to the north, all seen in the context of the city as viewed in the distance. The volumes of the house step up from the east reflecting the natural topography. The house is conceived as a porch bounded on two sides by more enclosed volumes.
